Brittany Mitchinson

Therapist - BSW, MSW, RSW

Hi! I'm Brittany Mitchinson, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO.

I received my Master of Counselling Psychology Degree from Yorkville University in 2021, and I also have a Bachelors of Arts Double Major in Forensics & Criminology as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a thesis.

I have been working in the field of social services for over 7 years, initially working in various Community Living homes and now in my dream position as a Mental Health & Addictions Therapist within a healthcare setting.

Currently, my main focus and passion is working alongside folks with substance use and relapse prevention as their primary concern. In addition, my experience in the field has allowed me to work with individuals focusing on primary concerns of anxiety, depression, significant other substance use, relationship problems, self-esteem, and other mental health concerns.

My approach to therapy is unique based on you! My goal is to be along side you in your journey to becoming the best version of you, and who better to decide how that looks than YOU! We do this through a variety of modalities that are strength focused, person-centered, and trauma informed. I often utilize techniques such as motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy.

I know that starting therapy with a focus on you can be a very intimidating and scary commitment, so it is my goal to make you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered. Together, we can reach your goals, build resiliency, and ultimately become the best version of you, whatever that looks like!

I look forward to chatting with you, and beginning this empowering journey together :)
